If you are moving a house, building, manufactured home, grain bin, large equipment or another oversized load, MidAmerican Energy may need to review the route before the move takes place.

We'll review the proposed travel route to identify possible issues with power lines or underground equipment to determine whether any utility work is necessary.

Contact us if your move:
  • Involves traveling under or near power lines
  • Requires temporary line lifts or protective measures
  • Requires relocation or modification of utility facilities
Route and line clearance review
Our team will evaluate electric line clearances, note any facility modifications needed and help to coordinate temporary line lifts or other utility protection measures.

Start the process
To begin the review process, please complete and submit the Oversized Load Move Request Form and provide any supporting documentation. You'll need to include information like:
  • Proposed move date
  • Route description and map
  • Dimensions of the structure or load being moved
  • Origin and destination locations
  • Contact information for the mover
  • Any additional information needed to evaluate potential impacts to our electric facilities
Email the completed form to projectcoordinator@midamerican.com several weeks in advance to allow for review and the necessary utility work.

A $275 review fee is required to cover the cost of measuring facilities along the route and preparing a proposal for the move. Please mail a cashier's check or company check to:
