Prioritizing your safety means more than keeping your energy services safe and reliable. We follow cybersecurity practices to protect your private information as well. As part of our latest effort to further ensure the security of your personal data, we've partnered with Microsoft to enhance the security of the My Account login process.

When you go to log in to My Account or your My Landlord Account, you will now pass through a Microsoft-powered secure domain page to enter your normal username and password before you are brought back to My Account. This process helps verify your identity and encrypt your personal data. When you reach the log in page and see “https://mecb2c.b2clogin.com” URL, you’ll know the new security process is working correctly and you can proceed as usual.

Below are some other changes you might notice as a result of our online security upgrades:
  • If you haven’t logged into My Account in the last 12 months, or your password is too weak, you may be prompted to set a new, stronger password.
  • Changing or updating your account password will require a verification code that will be sent to you via email to the email address connected to your account.
  • The MidAmericanEnergy.com homepage may look a bit different. But you can quickly access the My Account log in page by clicking the button in the upper right-hand corner.
  • If you have the My Account log in page bookmarked on your browser, that bookmark may stop working. To fix it, please update your bookmark with the new URL.

Multi-Factor Authentication

My Account users will also have the option to add another layer of security to their accounts with multi-factor authentication (MFA). This process requires two forms of electronic verification like a special text code or phone call along with your password to gain access to your account. This feature can be turned on or disabled after logging in to your My Account.
