MidAmerican Energy will launch new phone system to better serve customers

DES MOINES, Iowa – (Aug. 18, 2016) – MidAmerican Energy Company is committed to delivering exceptional customer service. That’s why we are upgrading our automated telephone system to better serve those customers who want to pick up the phone and call us.

“Beginning Aug. 20, when you call MidAmerican Energy be sure to listen to the recorded phone instructions in the greeting because some options may have changed,” said Terry Ousley, vice president, customer satisfaction, MidAmerican Energy. “With the new system, customers can easily manage their business – whether it’s to quickly report an emergency or reach customer service to talk about their bill. The phone greeting explains the options available to customers. Additionally, the system makes it easier for customers to have menu selections repeated.”

Only the menu selections have changed; the customer service phone number has not. Customers can reach MidAmerican Energy by calling 1-888-427-5632.

Additionally, customers can do business with us securely online by creating a personal account at Customers can manage their MidAmerican Energy account anytime and from anywhere. It’s a one-stop shop for interacting with us, including viewing and paying energy bills, managing account preferences and keeping contact information up-to-date. Customers can also sign up for budget billing, email notifications and text alerts to receive outage updates, bill due date and past due reminders, or recurring payment reminders.

With nearly a third of customer visits to the MidAmerican Energy website originating from a mobile device like a smart phone or tablet, customers can log on the website from anywhere, and on any kind of device, and take care of business quickly and easily with just a few clicks.
