On Aug. 17 and 18, staff from the Science Center of Iowa will be on hand from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to present “Simply Electrifying,” a demonstration on static electricity. The Science Center will talk with visitors about energy and how it impacts our daily lives.
Always a favorite among kids, Louie the Lightning Bug will make appearances Aug. 11, 16, and 18 at noon in the MidAmerican Energy Visitors Center. Free drawstring bags and coloring sheets featuring MidAmerican Energy’s “Slam the Scam” campaign will be handed out Aug. 11 and 16 to the first 2,000 kids through the doors.

Fairgoers can share the selfie on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #SafetySelfie. MidAmerican Energy will feature the pictures on its social media pages.
The MidAmerican Energy Visitors Center is located on Exposition Hill under the wind turbine and near the MidAmerican Energy Stage.
