MidAmerican Energy once again tops Midwest rankings in J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Study

DES MOINES, Iowa – (July 13, 2016) – For the ninth consecutive year, MidAmerican Energy Company’s residential customers have ranked the company highest for overall satisfaction in the Large-Midwest category in the 2016 J.D. Power Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction StudySM.

The 2016 study, released July 13, evaluated 137 electric utilities in the U.S. for overall residential customer satisfaction based on performance in six key areas: power quality and reliability; price; billing and payment; corporate citizenship; communications; and customer service. MidAmerican Energy once again took top honors in the Midwest Region-Large Segment with an overall satisfaction index score of 713 – 21 points higher than its 2015 score.

Terry Ousley, vice president, customer satisfaction for MidAmerican Energy, said the company’s outstanding showing in the J.D. Power rankings reflects an unwavering commitment to delivering safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable energy solutions for customers.

Serving them is a privilege, and having them recognize our efforts for the ninth year in a row is the highest compliment we could receive.”

Results of the J.D. Power Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study are based on responses from a total of 101,138 online interviews conducted with residential utility customers between July 2015 and May 2016. MidAmerican Energy’s score of 713 on the 1,000-point scale was well above the 680 average of all residential electric utilities rated.
