MidAmerican Energy Announces Mobile-Optimized Website for Android and iPhone Users

DES MOINES, Iowa – (Jan. 22, 2014) – MidAmerican Energy Company has made it easier for customers to create and manage their accounts online. The secure mobile-optimized website allows Android and iPhone users to view their bill, schedule one-time or recurring payments, report outages, and enroll in budget billing right from their mobile device.

“We are excited to provide an easier way for customers to do business with us,” said Terry Ousley, vice president of customer satisfaction for MidAmerican Energy. “This site not only allows customers to quickly pay their bill from their phone, it also allows them to alert the company to any outages they may experience in their area, further enhancing our ability to respond to an outage.”

With more than 90 percent of Americans using mobile phones and the increase in smartphone usage, in an effort to enhance its customer service capabilities, MidAmerican Energy offers the website to ensure customers have a secure and optimized experience. Bookmark it on an Android
  • Type in your Web browser’s address bar.

  • Once you are on the login page, select the Menu Bar (this should look like three horizontal lines and is often times found as a physical button or touch button on the phone, but also could be somewhere on your phone’s screen) or Settings button (three dots in the corner of the browser).

  • Select Save to Bookmarks or Add Bookmark, or if these options are not available, this may be a star icon.

  • You will be prompted to name the bookmark, such as My MidAmerican Account.

  • Select Done, Save or Ok to save.

Bookmark it on an iPhone
  • Type in your Web browser’s address bar.

  • Tap the action button. This may be a + button on an older iOS device.

  • Tap Add Bookmark.

  • Edit the bookmark name, such as My MidAmerican Account.
  • Tap Save.
