MidAmerican Energy Field Stadium

In late 2018, we announced our partnership with Iowa State University to rename the field at Jack Trice Stadium, MidAmerican Energy Field.

The new partnership was announced in August of 2018 and includes an annual donation of $1.5 million for the next 10 years. This is completely funded through the MidAmerican Energy Foundation, which means corporate giving and employee contributions will support the partnership with Jack Trice Stadium and the Iowa State University football program.

This partnership also includes support of the new Student-Athlete Performance Center. Construction is expected to start in 2019 on the new state-of-the-art center that will be located northwest of the Jack Trice Stadium. It will include construction of a new student-athlete academic and sports nutrition center, expansion of the Bergstrom Football Complex and redevelopment of the north entrance and hillside seating at Jack Trice Stadium.

Supporting athletics in our state is important because it brings communities together and allows us to celebrate each victory as our own.

“Partnerships like this are an exclamation point of our vision to be stewards of strong communities,” said Kathryn Kunert, vice president economic connections and integration. “Our contributions will help students now, and for years to come. We are grateful for this opportunity and we are proud to have the MidAmerican Energy home next to Jack Trice Stadium.”
“Helping Iowa State enhance its student-athletes’ ability to perform at the highest level of competition through this new center and the university’s other world-class programs also helps in the development of our future workforce — and is something that is very important to us,” Adam Wright, president and CEO, said.

MidAmerican Energy believes in the legacy that Jack Trice left behind. As the second African-American to play collegiate football at a major university, we are proud that Iowa has always been a state that champions liberty. It’s also one of the reasons why a partnership with Iowa State University makes sense for us – because it closely aligns with what we believe in, and has a track record to back it up. We believe in working together to preserve that legacy.

Iowa has gotten a lot of attention lately for its growing infrastructure and bustling industry. It’s consistently ranked as a one of the best places to live, and has recently attracted some big name companies to build here. We understand that reinforcing growth through education and a vibrant workforce can be the catalyst for growing communities.

“Helping Iowa State enhance its student-athletes’ ability to perform at the highest level of competition through this new center and the university’s other world-class programs also helps in the development of our future workforce — and is something that is very important to us,” Adam Wright, president and CEO, said.

As Iowa continues to move forward, we will continue to identify partnerships that help us cultivate a strong workforce and foster future community leaders. The essentials to making Iowa a place to live, grow and learn.
