2019 ILLINOIS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

  • Participants must be nonresidential customers (commercial or industrial) with facilities located in MidAmerican Energy Company’s Illinois service territory.
  • MidAmerican Energy Company must deliver the primary electricity and/or natural gas to the equipment at the facility for which the rebate is being paid.
  • Qualifying equipment must be new, installed on the premises and must not be purchased for resale.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring that the equipment installed for these programs meets all applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Equipment must be installed and operating prior to submission of final rebate application, except for motors purchased for spare inventory. Installations must meet the standards referenced in the individual program guidelines.
  • Customers may not receive custom rebates in lieu of prescriptive rebates.
  • Custom projects require preapproval by MidAmerican Energy Company and no equipment can be purchased or any work initiated prior to receiving a formal preapproval letter. Projects must be completed within six months of preapproval. All custom projects must be deemed cost-effective by MidAmerican Energy Company in order to be eligible for a rebate.
  • For custom projects, the rebates for electric projects will be $0.08 - $0.12 per kWh of first year savings. The rebates for natural gas projects will be $2 per therm of first year savings. Customers will receive the lesser of the calculated custom rebate or 50 percent of the eligible project cost, and the rebate may not reduce the simple payback for the project to fewer than two years.
  • For prescriptive rebates, the rebate payment cannot exceed 50 percent of the installed cost (reasonable labor and material/equipment - reasonableness to be determined by MidAmerican Energy Company). Installed cost includes contractor labor only and does not include internal labor.
  • Prescriptive rebates will be based on the rebate schedule in effect on the date of dealer invoice for the equipment/material purchased.
  • Rebate checks will be issued to the building owner or account holder.
  • Equipment must be purchased and installed between Jan. 1, 2019, and Dec. 31, 2019. Equipment must be installed and operating prior to submission of final rebate application. Rebate application must be submitted within 90 days of dealer invoice or by Jan. 31, 2020, whichever comes first, for the equipment/material purchased. Some exceptions apply for new construction, multiyear or multiphase projects. For these types of projects, preauthorization for the exception must be obtained by the customer from MidAmerican Energy Company.
  • Rebate applications received after Jan. 31, 2020, will not be eligible for rebates. Applications can be submitted via email at rebateapplications@midamerican.com.
  • Itemized and dated invoices from the contractor must accompany equipment applications. Specification sheets also are required for all equipment. Applications must be completed in full; incomplete applications will delay processing and may be returned. Applications for equipment must include the equipment manufacturer’s name, model/serial number, efficiency rating and the quantity of high-efficiency equipment installed.
  • All project installations with rebates exceeding $20,000 will be reviewed for on-site verification of installation by MidAmerican Energy Company or its agent prior to issuance of rebate.
  • Allow up to 4 weeks for rebate processing once application and supporting documents are received (excluding on-site verification time, if needed).
  • Rebates may be subject to income tax. Consult your tax advisor for more information.
  • MidAmerican Energy Company reserves the right to conduct on-site verification of equipment installation, install metering devices on new equipment, and to verify sales receipts and other project documentation at any time before or after issuing a rebate.
  • MidAmerican Energy Company does not endorse any particular manufacturer, product or system design in promoting this incentive program. Listing a product does not constitute an endorsement, nor does it imply that unlisted products are defective in any way.
  • MidAmerican Energy Company does not guarantee that installation and operation of energy-efficient equipment will result in reduced usage or in cost savings. The manner in which a customer uses and maintains energy-efficient equipment affects potential cost savings.
  • MidAmerican Energy Company makes no warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to any equipment purchased or installed, including, but not limited to, any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
  • In no event shall MidAmerican Energy Company be held liable for any incidental or consequential damages or injuries resulting from defective equipment or installation.
  • Additional program-specific qualifications are shown on individual program pages and rebate applications.
  • The programs are effective Jan. 1, 2019, through Dec. 31, 2019, and are subject to periodic review by MidAmerican Energy Company, and MidAmerican Energy Company reserves the right to modify or end these programs at any time.
