MidAmerican Energy is assisting with the construction of four of MISO's 17 transmission expansion projects.
About the Projects
In December 2011, the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. board of directors unanimously approved the organization’s transmission expansion plan. The plan is a comprehensive long-term regional plan for the electric grid that will bring more than $2 billion in annual benefits to energy consumers throughout the Midwest.
Projects in MISO's plan are primarily designed to deliver reliability to the Midwest region and provide effective and efficient transmission solutions to meet expected growth in renewable energy generation.
