Energy Generation and Transmission

MidAmerican Energy’s commitment to infrastructure investment benefits both our business and residential customers. Our service territory encompasses 10,600 square miles and has a total population of approximately 2 million people.

Our dedication to maintaining a diverse generation portfolio helps to ensure our current rate stability and helps ensure that our customers will benefit from stable supply and sufficient capacity now and well into the future.

Production costs at our coal-fueled generation stations are lower than regional and national averages and we have majority ownership in five of the six jointly owned coal-fueled generating stations in Iowa.
