During a Flood
MidAmerican Energy continues to work with emergency personnel, National Weather Service staff and community leaders to identify steps to be taken in the various flooding stages – before the flood, during the crisis and in the post-recovery period.
To help prevent electric and natural gas hazards that can be created by flooding, call your utility provider to have services temporarily disconnected if your electric or gas meter is threatened by flooding.
During flooding, MidAmerican Energy will temporarily disconnect services if:
- A customer requests to have service disconnected.
- A situation is hazardous if service is not disconnected.
- Local disaster or city officials request disconnection of services in an impacted area.
