Credit/Debit Card Payments
MidAmerican Energy accepts payments via Western Union® Speedpay®, a utility bill payment center. Western Union Speedpay adds a processing fee to all debit and credit card payments. Western Union Speedpay accepts:
  • MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express debit and credit cards
  • ATM or debit cards using the STAR, PULSE, NYCE and ACCEL networks
The Western Union Speedpay processing fee can be verified by calling 866-579-1409. A credit/debit card payment and processing fee will appear on your monthly credit card statement.

Have the following information available before contacting Western Union Speedpay: your MidAmerican Energy account number, your service address, the amount of payment and your debit or credit card information (including the three-digit number on the back of your card).

There are two ways to make a payment using Western Union Speedpay:
  • Call 866-579-1409 24 hours per day to make a payment. A processing fee will be charged by Western Union Speedpay.
  • Pay online via Western Union Speedpay. A processing fee will be charged by Western Union Speedpay.

    Accessing the Western Union Speedpay link will take you to a website separate from this website and any other MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company website.
If a payment is made for a pending disconnection or reconnection of service, call MidAmerican Energy at 888-427-5632 with the Western Union Speedpay transaction number, which confirms the payment.

Payments submitted by 3 p.m. CST daily will be posted to your MidAmerican Energy account the next business day. Payments made after 3 p.m. CST will be posted to your MidAmerican Energy account within two business days, excluding federal holidays. Processed payments cannot be canceled.
