MidAmerican Energy provides assistance and safety education to customers and communities in its service territory. It's part of our promise to help you and your children stay safe at home and on the road.

Some of MidAmerican Energy's safety programs and outage restoration efforts include:
  • Safety Calls – MidAmerican Energy drivers in vehicles with radios or cell phones will notify authorities when they see a motorist or pedestrian in distress or a crime being committed. Many employees are CPR and first-aid certified and will lend assistance when possible and appropriate.
  • Safety Alerts – When a number of calls or reports on potentially serious incidents are received, MidAmerican Energy issues safety alerts to the public. Examples include cautions about the dangers of carbon monoxide or an alert about particular pieces of electrical equipment that may have safety issues.
  • Home Safety Tips – On a regular basis, MidAmerican Energy distributes a series of tips on home safety through the media.
  • Safety Advertising – Seasonal print and broadcast advertising to educate children and adults about the potential dangers of electric lines, transmission towers, electric substations and natural gas leaks.
