DES MOINES, Iowa – (Oct. 25, 2013) – MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company ranks No. 1 in the U.S. for overall customer satisfaction among large commercial and industrial customers of electric utility holding companies, according to 2013 data released this week by TQS Research, Inc. The company’s ongoing emphasis on customer satisfaction and sharing of best practices resulted in all three of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company’s U.S. utilities – MidAmerican Energy Company, Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power – contributing to the top ranking.
MidAmerican Energy Company, based in Des Moines, Iowa, earned a very satisfied rating of 95.4 percent from the large commercial and industrial customers included in the survey. Rocky Mountain Power, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, earned a very satisfied rating of 95 percent, and Pacific Power, based in Portland, Ore., scored a very satisfied rating of 95.7 percent from their largest customers included in the survey. As a result of the operating companies’ high ratings, MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company ranked first in the U.S. among electric utility holding companies, with 95.3 percent of large commercial and industrial customers surveyed indicating they were very satisfied.

Not only did MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company rank No. 1 overall, it also ranked first in the categories of energy efficiency and account management.
TQS Research, Inc. is an Atlanta-based independent research firm that polls large commercial and industrial customers of electric utilities for overall satisfaction. The annual TQS benchmark survey of approximately 49 of the largest utility holding companies measures performance in areas such as energy efficiency, account management, reliability, price, handling customer contacts, and company image.
