Education Programs Assembly Programs Assembly programs are available to schools in MidAmerican Energy's service territory through a partnership with the Science Center of Iowa. MidAmerican pays the cost for the first 50 programs requested each school year. The Simply Electrifying program introduces students to the atom and its parts and explains the relationship between electrons and electricity. The program also: Demonstrates static electricity. Discusses lightning safety. Illustrates the differences between current and static electricity. Illustrates the effects of electricity on everyday life. Explains how electricity is measured. Demonstrates common safety methods used in homes and businesses. Instructions for scheduling an assembly are mailed to school districts in MidAmerican Energy's service territory each fall.
