Eliminating energy waste is an ideal way to benefit the bottom line of your business.

The EfficiencyPartners program provides information to customers to improve the energy performance of large, existing nonresidential facilities. The program offers organizational and technical assistance to help customers identify and pursue energy management and energy efficiency improvements. MidAmerican Energy provides participating customers with a diagnostic evaluation of the organizations’ energy management practices, scoping-level, facility-wide energy assessments and rebate incentives.

Here’s How the Program Works
The process begins when we prescreen your facility to confirm your eligibility. The program is limited to business facilities 25,000 square feet or larger where MidAmerican delivers electricity and/or natural gas in its Iowa service territory. Commercial, industrial, institutional and governmental facilities are eligible for the program.

We will schedule, at your convenience and at no cost to you, a diagnostic evaluation of your organization’s energy management practices and a comprehensive facility walk-through energy assessment to identify energy efficiency opportunities.

Following these assessments, MidAmerican will provide a written summary report that will benchmark your facility’s energy performance against other similar facilities and provide recommendations in the following areas:

		Improvements in your organization’s energy management systems;
		No-cost and low-cost operational changes to improve energy efficiency;
		Capital projects to improve energy efficiency;
		Strategies for lowering effective energy process (e.g., load management demand reduction, service level changes, etc.);
		Retro-commissioning activities, where warranted; and
		Additional projects requiring detailed investment-grade engineering studies, where warranted.

If your goal is to pursue a comprehensive approach to energy management and achieve a high-performance facility, MidAmerican will facilitate a process that promotes continuous energy improvements by formalizing a partnership between MidAmerican and your organization. MidAmerican will work with your organization to create an Energy Efficiency Action Plan that is custom-designed specifically for your organization’s short- and long-term needs.

Available Financial Incentives
For non-EfficiencyPartners participants not pursuing a comprehensive action plan, cash incentives will be offered on installed, qualifying energy efficiency measures in accordance with MidAmerican’s Nonresidential Equipment and Custom Systems programs.

For EfficiencyPartners participants, MidAmerican will provide incentives to help offset the upfront cost of all installed and qualifying energy-efficient measures recommended in the energy assessment summary report. EfficiencyPartners’ incentives are structured to buy down the higher incremental cost of a high-efficiency measure compared to the cost of a similar standard- or Iowa Energy Code-level measure. Incentives will be capped at a maximum buy down of four years payback of customers’ incremental costs. These incentives usually exceed cash incentives available under our other nonresidential programs.
