MidAmerican Energy's EnergyAdvantage® Residential Equipment program makes it easier for you to afford new heating, cooling and water heating equipment. The installation of new equipment can save money on energy bills and make homes more comfortable. MidAmerican customers in Illinois may qualify for rebates for each newly installed energy-efficient natural gas furnace, natural gas boiler, central air conditioner, air-source heat pump and ground-source heat pump. There is a $50 rebate for a newly installed natural gas water heater. Federal tax credits for qualifying improvements to existing homes are available, covering 30 percent of the cost of qualifying improvements up to a $1,500 combined maximum. Federal tax credits to new and existing homes also are available for qualifying renewable energy systems, covering 30 percent of the cost of qualifying systems, with no maximum.
