Aggregation – Customers voluntarily forming an entity that can buy electricity in bulk in order to increase buying power. For example, aggregators could be alliances of churches, shopping malls, neighborhoods and restaurants.

Bundled service – Full service, including generation, transmission, distribution and related services, provided by
MidAmerican.

Delivery services – Services provided by
MidAmerican, including transmission, distribution, standard metering and billing, which are necessary for the delivery of power to customers.

Distribution –
The use of poles and wires to deliver electricity to a home or business.

Generation – The process of changing other forms of energy, such as fossil fuels, nuclear or renewable energy, into electricity.

Meter service provider – A retail provider of unbundled metering
service certified by the Illinois Commerce Commission
and registered with MidAmerican.

Retail electric supplier – An Illinois Commerce Commission-authorized supplier of electricity, including MidAmerican's retail division, other electric utilities selling inside MidAmerican's regulated service
area and aggregators.

Transmission – The delivery of high-voltage bulk electricity from a generating facility through transmission lines to utility distribution facilities, where the voltage is reduced for customer use.

Unbundled – A component of bundled service that is offered separately to customers, such as generation, transmission, delivery services and metering. |
