Agribusiness
If you are in search of ways to lower your monthly farm energy bills and offset equipment
costs, look no further than MidAmerican Energy's Agribusiness program. The Agribusiness
program offers no-cost energy assessments to determine and prioritize energy efficiency
improvements, rebates to help offset the cost to purchase energy-efficient equipment, and
expert technical assistance.
Who Qualifies?
All farms in Iowa that receive electricity and/or natural gas directly from MidAmerican
Energy are eligible to receive a farm energy assessment.
Here's How it Works
It all starts with a free, no-obligation energy assessment to help you better understand
how your agribusiness uses energy and how to use energy more efficiently.
After the assessment, you will receive a report that includes recommendations for
energy-saving actions, complete with estimates of energy-savings potential and general
cost estimates for each recommended action, including low- or no-cost suggestions for
quick energy savings.
MidAmerican Energy also offers rebates to reduce out-of-pocket costs and help customers
afford qualifying energy-efficient equipment, including but not limited to:
- Heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment
- Motors and variable-speed drives
- Lighting equipment
- Custom equipment and systems
Rebates are offered on installed, qualifying energy efficiency measures in accordance with
MidAmerican Energy's Nonresidential Equipment and Custom Systems programs.
Note: Although noted in the nonresidential prescriptive program brochures’ Terms and Conditions
(“Rebates exceeding $10,000 require preapproval by MidAmerican Energy Company.”),
preapproval is
NOT required for nonresidential prescriptive projects exceeding
$10,000. Preapproval is still required in the Custom Systems program.
